Job Overview

Terms of Engagement: 5 Year Contract To provide leadership and guidance to the Finance function by implementation of sound accounting, budgeting and financial control systems and procedures in accordance with International Accounting Standards and the policies approved by the Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Tasks a) Ensure that costs are maintained and effectively controlled at acceptable levels and various managers are advised on the Company standards. b) Maintain books of sales, purchases, expenditure and receipts at all times. c) Formulate and maintain an up-to-date register of the Companies assets and liabilities. d) To ensure timely availability of management control information for routine decisions, ensuring satisfactorily management information system needs and ensure that causes for failure to achieve standards. e) To maintain records of all the company insurance and taxation activities. f) Ensure timely completion of monthly trial balances and production of financial statements. g) Ensure jointly with the internal auditor, that sufficient controls have been implemented to prevent all fraud and other related malpractices. h) In consultation with the General Manager, Finance Services develop and ensure adherence to financial accounting principles. i) To interpret the company corporate plan and spearhead the preparation of the annual budget. j) Ensure that policies and guidelines of the company are understood and adhered to. k) Ensure that the company assets are properly accounted for and secured. l) Supervise, discipline and participate in appraisal and counseling of staff in the department. m) Planning, directing and coordinating the internal financial operations. n) Assessing the financial situation of the Company. o) Preparing budgets and controlling expenditure. p) Ensuring use of resources. q) Establishing and directing operation procedures r) Planning and directing Daily financial Operations. Qualifications and Requirements

  • Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK)

Other Requirements

Requirements for Appointment a) Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, finance, business related field. b) A Master's Degree in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation or a related field. c) Member, Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) in good standing d) Must be a CPA (K), e) Must have at least 12 years relevant experience 5 of which should be senior management position. f) Management course lasting not less than four weeks g) Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Computer Assisted Audit Tool and Techniques h) Must have an analytical mind with proven managerial and leadership skills i) Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
